You must have read my thoughts, I'm gearing up for a Chaplin marathon this weekend. I've got The Kid, The Gold Rush, Modern Times, The Great Dictator, Limelight, and lots of chips and root beer. Unfortunately cinephiles seem to be in short supply round these parts, and thus I will be by myself. :(
Well, those were the ones I grabbed from this store I found downtown that incredibly had what looked like the whole Chaplin collection. I'll have to grab City lights if I can find the store again.
A girl who likes silent movies and rootbeer? Sounds too good to be true!
This is a blog of treasures! Hooray for Chaplin! There is a special place in my heart for "Modern Times". My Humanities teacher in highschool spent a week on that movie. How that podunk town lucked out on having a teacher with taste, I'll never know.
double takes is a little corner of the web to share photography that deserves a longer look. photos that celebrate the whimsical, funny and graceful side of life. from portraits of favorite screen personalities, to bizarre yet alluring scenes, i hope these little pretty stories leave you feeling creative and inspired after every visit.
updates on mondays, wednesdays and fridays, so check back often!

modern times is my favorite! but hey, where's city lights on your marathon list?!!!
Have you seen The Circus Nico? It's so great but I've never found anyone to talk about it with.
Kurdt, come to Tucson and I will watch all of them with you! I LOVE CHAPLIN AND ROOTBEER!
would ya believe it?? that's the only chaplin film i haven't seen all the way through. only clips and short scenes! i have failed you. :(
I love Chaplin! So much emotion in facial expressions. Love it. Clara Bow is my favorite silent film girl. Chaplin has to be my favorite man.
